Ever since I went to India on a vacation in 2006, I've been wanting to go back. The mentality, the friendly people, the strong scents, the bright colours, the spices, the noises...it is so impressive and overwhelming and is hard to describe.
I had of course my son with me, and he had a thrill, the indian families we met, wanted him to marry their daughters..(he was 10 at that time!!), fetching coconuts in the palmtrees, visiting hindu temples, bathing with elephants and sleeping in bamboo huts at the beach...
Today I want to show you a beautiful blue serie of photos taken by the swiss photographer Coni Hörler, born 1973 in Zürich. Starting 1994, he fully dedicated his life to photography. India became his major subject in photography and the center of his life since he first discovered the beauty of the subcontinent in 1996.
Extensive travelling constantly built his widespread network and profound knowledge of the country. He captures not only the beauty of nature, the smiles of the people and their life and culture, but just as much the heart beat of the mega cities and their fast growing economy.
